Restored Hot Water With a New Gas Valve in a Burleson Home 05.08.26

A Burleson homeowner called because their gas water heater had stopped heating water. Don traced the problem to the gas valve, the control on the front of the tank that regulates gas to the burner and decides when it fires. When that valve fails, the pilot can stay lit while the burner never comes on, so the water just sits cold. Don replaced the faulty valve, checked the connections for leaks, relit the heater, and confirmed it was heating again before he left. A failed valve doesn't always mean you need a new water heater.
