Plumbing fixtures cover a wide range — from the faucet handles you use every day to the shut-off valves behind your toilet that you never touch until something goes wrong. Dependable Plumbing installs and replaces plumbing fixtures throughout Burleson and south DFW. We also repair fixtures when repair is the right call and tell you honestly when it isn’t — sometimes replacing an aging fixture is the smarter investment, and sometimes a repair kit saves you the cost of a new one.
We’re happy to answer questions over the phone about pricing and which fixtures are worth buying before you commit to anything. 📞 (817) 447-2654
We install and replace kitchen faucets, bathroom faucets, utility faucets, and shower and tub valves. If you’ve already purchased a fixture and need it installed, we handle the hookup. If you need guidance on which brand or style to buy, we’re happy to give you a recommendation based on what holds up well and is easy to repair years down the road. Moen and Delta are the two brands we see most often and recommend most frequently — parts availability is excellent for both when repairs are eventually needed.
For detailed information on faucet repair and installation see our Faucets page.
Showerhead replacement is one of the simpler fixture upgrades — most standard showerheads thread directly onto the existing shower arm without any special tools. If you’re upgrading to a rain head, handheld, or multi-function unit and need the shower arm extended or the valve body updated to support the new flow rate, we handle that as well. We also address low-pressure showerhead issues — sometimes the fix is a new showerhead, but sometimes the cause is a clogged flow restrictor, a partially closed valve, or a supply line issue that’s worth diagnosing before purchasing a new unit.
The angle stop valves under sinks and behind toilets, and the main shut-off for the house, are fixtures that most homeowners never think about — until they need to turn the water off in an emergency and the valve won’t close. Original shut-off valves in older Burleson homes that haven’t been operated in decades are frequently corroded to the point where they can’t be safely turned. A valve that snaps when forced, or seeps at the stem when operated, needs replacement.
We replace angle stops and shut-off valves as part of other repair visits when we find them in this condition, and as standalone jobs when a homeowner wants to proactively update aging valves throughout the house. Having functional shut-offs at every fixture is a basic safety requirement for any home.
Braided stainless supply lines — the flexible connections between shut-off valves and faucets, and between the supply valve and the toilet fill valve — have a recommended replacement interval of about 10 years. The internal rubber hose inside the braided outer layer deteriorates over time and can fail without warning, sometimes causing a significant leak in a short amount of time. Original supply lines in a home built in the late 1990s or early 2000s are well past that interval. We replace supply lines as part of other fixture visits and as standalone replacements when requested.
The internal hardware inside the toilet tank — the fill valve that refills the tank after each flush and the flush valve and flapper that controls the flush — wears out over time. A toilet that runs continuously, cycles on and off by itself, or flushes weakly typically has worn internal components that are inexpensive to replace. We carry common replacement kits for major toilet brands on the truck. For a full overview of toilet repair see our Toilets page.
We install and replace garbage disposals of all major brands and power ratings. If your existing disposal is failing and you want a recommendation on a replacement unit, we can advise based on what holds up well in typical household use. For garbage disposal repair and installation details see our Garbage Disposal page.
The pressure relief valve, anode rod, drain valve, and supply line connections on your water heater are fixtures that need periodic attention. A T&P relief valve that is dripping or failing to hold, a drain valve that leaks, or supply connections that are corroding are all things we address as part of water heater service and as standalone repairs. For full water heater information see our Water Heater page.
Outdoor faucet replacement — standard hose bibs, frost-free models, and yard hydrants — is covered in detail on our Outside Faucet page.
When a fixture has a problem, replacement isn’t always the right answer. A faucet with a worn cartridge is often repairable for a fraction of replacement cost — and a quality faucet that’s otherwise in good shape is worth repairing rather than discarding. On the other hand, some fixtures reach a point where repair parts aren’t available, the repair cost approaches replacement cost, or the fixture has aged to the point where another failure is likely soon. We tell you honestly which situation you’re in.
We carry repair kits for many common faucet brands and can often repair a faucet on the same visit rather than recommending unnecessary replacement. When replacement genuinely makes more sense, we’ll tell you that too.
Not all plumbing fixtures are created equal. Some brands and models that look appealing at the hardware store have a reputation for failing early or being difficult to repair. Here’s what we generally recommend based on years of working on fixtures throughout south DFW:
