Plumbing Repair in Burleson TX

Not every plumbing problem fits neatly into a single category. Sometimes it’s a leak in the yard, a supply line that’s slowly failing, a shutoff valve that won’t close, or a problem you can’t quite describe but you know something’s wrong. This page covers general plumbing repair work across Burleson and south DFW — the kinds of jobs that don’t fall under one of our specialty service pages. Dependable Plumbing Company has been handling repairs of all kinds since 1985. Whatever the issue is, call us and we’ll diagnose it honestly, give you upfront pricing, and get it fixed.

If your issue clearly matches one of our specialty pages, head there for more detail (we link to them throughout this page). If you’re not sure what’s going on or your problem doesn’t fit cleanly into a category, you’re in the right place.

Common Plumbing Repairs We Handle

A handful of repairs make up most of our day-to-day work outside the slab leak, water heater, and drain specialties. If yours looks like one of these, you’ve called the right place:

Water Line Leaks in the Yard

When the supply line between the city meter and your house develops a leak, you’ll usually notice it first as a soft, soggy patch of grass that won’t dry, a water bill that climbed with no change in usage, or the meter dial moving with everything in the house turned off. We locate the leak before digging — saturation patterns and meter behavior usually point to within a few feet of the failure — and rebuild the damaged section with fresh pipe and fittings rather than trenching across the entire yard.

Hidden Leaks With No Visible Source

Sometimes you know there’s a leak somewhere but you can’t find it. The water bill jumped, a wall or ceiling is staining, the meter is creeping, or you hear water moving when nothing is on. Finding the source is half the job — we trace these systematically rather than tearing into walls hoping to get lucky. If the symptoms point under the slab, that’s a slab leak detection situation; if they point at supply piping in walls or ceilings, that’s standard plumbing repair work.

Pipe and Fitting Leaks

Drips at joints, T-connections, valves, and threaded fittings are the most common repair calls we get. Most are quick fixes — a fitting that’s lost its seal, a section of pipe that’s developed a pinhole, a shutoff that’s wept around the stem for years. Small leaks rarely stay small in Texas humidity, so it’s worth catching them early.

Shutoff Valve Replacement

Old quarter-turn and gate valves under sinks, behind toilets, and at the water heater often refuse to close completely when you need them most — usually right when a fixture starts leaking and you’re trying to stop the flow. We replace stuck or seized shutoff valves so the next emergency is one you can actually contain while you wait for a plumber.

Pressure Problems

Low water pressure can come from many places — a partially clogged supply line, a failing pressure regulator, aerator buildup, or a leak somewhere in the system bleeding pressure away. We diagnose where the loss is occurring rather than guessing.

Burst or Frozen Pipes

North Texas hard freezes do real damage every few winters. Exposed piping in attics, garages, and outside walls is the most vulnerable. We handle emergency repairs to burst pipes and can recommend ways to protect at-risk runs before the next cold snap.

Repairs Other Plumbers Couldn’t Solve

We regularly get called in when another company couldn’t locate the problem or wasn’t sure how to fix it. That’s a different kind of repair work, but it’s part of what we do. If you’ve already had another plumber out and you’re not satisfied with the answer, give us a call.

When to Call Sooner Rather Than Later

Most plumbing repairs get cheaper the earlier you catch them. A small drip at a fitting becomes a rotted cabinet over a year. A slow leak in a wall becomes drywall replacement and possible mold remediation. A wet spot in the yard becomes a soil-erosion issue that affects the foundation.

Call us if you’re seeing any of:

  • A water bill that climbed without a corresponding change in how you’re using water
  • A wet, damp, or unusually green spot in the yard that doesn’t dry
  • Staining on walls, ceilings, cabinets, or flooring around plumbing fixtures
  • The water meter dial creeping when everything inside is off
  • The sound of water running when no fixtures are on
  • Lower water pressure at one or more fixtures than you used to have
  • A persistent drip at a faucet, shutoff valve, or fitting

None of these are emergencies by themselves, but all of them get worse if you leave them alone.

Frequently Asked Questions — Plumbing Repair

What kinds of plumbing repairs do you handle?
We focus on residential plumbing repair and replacement, with slab leak detection and repair as our specialty. Beyond that we handle tank water heaters, drain cleaning, toilets, faucets, kitchen and bathroom sinks, garbage disposals, outside hose bibs and yard hydrants, supply line and drain pipe repair, water line leaks in the yard, and most common plumbing fixtures. We don’t handle new construction, commercial plumbing, tankless water heaters, or pier-and-beam homes.
Do you fix water line leaks in the yard?
Yes — this is one of the more common outdoor repair calls we get in south DFW. The supply line between the city meter and the house is exposed to ground movement, root pressure, and decades of shifting in our heavy clay soil, and it eventually fails. We locate the leak before digging so we can target the excavation to within a few feet of the failure point, then rebuild the damaged section and pressure-test the connection before backfilling.
Will a small plumbing leak get worse if I wait?
Almost always, yes. A small drip rarely stays small — fittings continue to deteriorate, water finds new paths, and the surrounding cabinet, drywall, or framing absorbs damage that wasn’t part of the original problem. The repair itself usually doesn’t get more expensive over time, but the surrounding damage does. Catching leaks early is the cheapest way to fix them.
Do you offer same-day plumbing repair?
For most calls yes, when you reach us early enough. Our regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and we answer the phone after hours. For urgent issues like active leaks, no water to the house, or sewage backups, call us at 817-447-2654 and we’ll work to get to you as quickly as we can.
Why do you recommend repair over replacement sometimes?
Because we don’t make more money pushing replacement when repair is the right answer. If a fitting can be repaired, a valve can be replaced, or a section of pipe can be patched and the rest of the system is sound, that’s usually the right call. If repeated repairs are becoming a pattern or the underlying line is deteriorated, we’ll tell you honestly and you can decide. Our job is to give you the information; the decision is yours.
